(This will be a lot of journaling so feel free to skip ahead to the next post...)
I can not believe its all ready the 15th of March! It has been a crazy month for us.
On the 5th we celebrated Brandons 29th birthday. Brandon was suppose to go out jeeping but the weather didn't cooperate. Instead he fired up the old jeep and took Donaven for a spin around the front yard a few times. He said it felt great to just sit in it again. Later that evening Susan watched the boys and I took Brandon out to an Exhibition opening at the Longview Museum of Fine Arts. It was nice eating fancy food and sipping our water while discussing the different pieces. The best part was just being able to spend time with Brandon and doing something together that he really enjoys. He sacrifices a lot for our family and I wanted to let him know that I love him and really appreciate every thing he does for us.
Then over the next week or so we all got pretty sick. I got tonsillitis and a sinus infection. Emerson got RSV (again) and an ear infection. We have all been fighting nasty allergies. I will be happy for a week of good health and no Urgent care visits.
After completely disinfecting the house and catching up on laundry we started to prepare for Donaven's surgery. Donavens name was put on the temple prayer rolls. Many friends and family prayed and fasted together in his behalf. We received many blessings. The day of his surgery came and we made the long drive over to Shreveport to the Urologist. Donaven hadn't eaten since 9pm the previous day. He did really great on the drive. Once we were called back he started to get a little nervous but a really great nurse help him calm down. She gave him stickers, played peek-a-boo with his curtains and showed him how to press all kinds of buttons to make fun noises. I was very grateful for her kindness and attentiveness. Then she gave him some "monkey juice" in preparation for the anesthesia. He got really loopy. Soon the Dr. came and wheeled him away and we were sent to the waiting room. The whole time I felt really at peace. I knew everything would be fine. The surgery went well. It took Donaven an entire day to shake off the effects of the anesthesia. It made him really, really sick. So sick that we almost took him to the E.R. Late Friday night T.J. came over and gave him a blessing and by Saturday morning he was 100% better. Monday we were able to get the catheter out. So many friends helped out. They brought meals, games, puzzles, movies, and treats. I will never be able to say Thank You enough for all the love and support that we have been shown over the past few weeks!
Now we are well and life is getting back to normal. Sorry, I know that was a lot. If you are still reading this then you are a true friend indeed!
