Easter Extravaganza

Easter has come and gone. It was a wonderful holiday filled with reflections on the Savior, His infinite Atonement and the promise of Eternal Life. It was fun teaching the boys about the symbols of Easter. The best part was getting to spend a lot of time together as a family.

BYU-Idaho Dance Show

The whole family got to go and enjoy the BYU-Idaho World of Dance show. It was really lovely! I laughed, cried like a baby, and at times wanted to get up and dance along with them. The boys even enjoyed it for the most part. A friend of ours was kind enough to take this shot of us after the show.

Donaven was so well behaved that we decided to let him pick out a candy at the store. Spoiled? I think so!!!

All Aboard!

Lesson learned...A model train show really not all that fun for little guys who just want to play with the trains. All of the vendors kept reminding us to only look and not touch. We won't make that mistake again. Oh well at least I got a couple cute pictures out of it!

Feeding the birds.

Donaven LOVES animals. A trip to the zoo is like paradise for the child. His favorite part of our zoo is the bird walk-a-bout. He loves being so close and getting to feed them. Our last zoo trip just as we walked into the bird area I overheard the lady in front of us in line say that she had got the last stick of bird feed. My heart dropped. Donaven took it pretty well though at first and went about trying to coax the birds to let him hold them. He wasn't having much luck and started to get upset not understanding why everyone else was getting to hold and feed the birds and not him. Just as I was about to take him out promising we would come back and try again a different day, a very nice stranger came over and offered her stick of bird feed to my Donaven. I almost teared up at her generosity. She wouldn't even let me pay her for it.

He was so happy that this little cute fluff ball let him hold him for a bit. It really made his day! Seeing him so joyful made mine...

D's First Primary Activity

A few weeks ago our ward had a primary activity on baptism. It was my first Wednesday after getting released as the young womens president and I was grateful to be able to attend the activity with Donaven. He was a little reluctant at first. He kept asking me if I was going to leave him. I finally assured him that I wasn't going anywhere and he calmed down and started to really enjoy himself. He even raised his hand several times to answer questions. After a great talk and activity on baptism the children were escorted to the font at the back of our building where they continued the discussion of baptism.

Donaven got right up in front and pressed his nose to the glass. He was really curious and seemed to soak it all in. I loved his eagerness to learn about the gospel. It made me realize that he can understand a lot more than I give him credit for. I am so grateful for this bright and and energetic boy in my life. I hope to help him grow closer to his Heavenly Father that when the day comes for him to enter the waters of baptism he will be prepared to keep the covenants he is making. I am sure the time will fly by and I will wish to have a few more still moments like this with my sweet little boy.

Let's Brighten Things Up a Bit....

I love my home. At times though, all the brown from the wood walls seems to close in on me. I decided to brighten things up a bit and add a little Easter cheer.







Simple, and inexpensive, yet it makes me smile every time I walk into this room!

Bring Spring

Spring is in the air. The weather has been lovely lately. We have been able to go out and enjoy it together.

Donaven found this little caterpillar. He was so sweet and gentle with it. Exclaiming over and over that is was a friendly buggy!

We finally got the sandbox set up Donaven has been loving it.

During conference I decided to whip up a couple of these felt rosettes for myself. Can't you almost smell them?

I really enjoyed conference this afternoon. It was really uplifting. The talks on love, marriage and parenting really spoke to me. I can not wait for my ensign to come so I can study them. At one point I looked over and saw this...

It made my heart swell. I love those guys so much! Spring is here and I am happily enjoying it with the people that mean the most to me.
