Sci-Port

Yesterday Donaven had a follow up appointment with Dr. Van Savage to make sure everything was healing well after his surgery. It was the first time I was making the trip to Shreveport with the boys with out Brandon. I wasn't really looking forward to it. The night before I got an unexpected invitation from our dear friend Tiffany to accompany her, James and Jade to Sci-Port. It was just what we needed to turn a undesirable trip into a memorable day with friends. We got to spend the morning learning and playing together before heading to the Doctors office.

The best part of all was seeing Emerson actually get to interact
and experience sci-port for the first time.

*Donaven is doing well. We will go back in three months for more tests.

This past week we had our first ever house guest. She is a sweet, hilarious, fun loving little girl. Whom happens to be one of Donaven's favorite persons in the whole wide world.

That's right you probably guessed Cousin Renee!
We had so much fun while she was here.
Here are a few of our adventures together...

Fathers Day

For fathers day this year we got Brandon a gun safe. He went and picked it out and brought it home the week prior to fathers day. I still wanted him to have something unexpected on Sunday. The boys and I went out to Micheal's and bought the needed supplies. A white shirt, freezer paper, and fabric paint. I looked online for just the right image that Brandon would appreciate. A fun jeep with huge tires. Using a freezer paper stencil tutorial and our collaborative effort this is how it turned out...

Happy Fathers day Brandon! I love you and I am so thankful to have you to be the father of our children. Thank you for putting the boys to bed even though you still have a lot of work to do. Thank you for being patient and teaching
Donaven new things. Thank you for giving Emerson your undivided attention and just holding him when he needs his daddy. Most of all thank you for sharing it all with me. I'm the luckiest girl ever!

Here are my guys on fathers day. Sorry about the clothes-less baby....

Summer Goal

Brandon and I have decided to try to make it to the temple once every month this summer. This may not seem like a big deal to you,but we haven't been since Donaven was a baby. Way, way to long. Last Saturday we got the opportunity thanks to my wonderful sister, Angie. We decided the earlier the better so we got up before the sun got ready and quietly sneaked out leaving our sweet boys in the capable hands of their Aunt. On the way to the temple we were greeted by this majestic sunrise.

We arrived at the temple with a few minutes to spare before our session started. Allowing us to walk around the grounds and feel of the peace that accompanies being on such sacred ground.

The session was wonderful. I learned things I hadn't even thought of before. We were both filled with a comforting filling of peace and love. Brandon came to the decision that it was time to start looking for other employment opportunities where his safety wouldn't be at risk. It was exactly what we needed. I am really looking forward to going again next month.

After our session we took one more turn around the temple grounds not really wanting to leave and go out into the busy world again. The sun was well up in the sky and we didn't last outside for long in the heat. We did manage to snap a few last shots of us enjoying each others company.

Fabulous Finds

Over the weekend I found some really great deals at this garage sale we stopped at.

I got this really cute skirt for a
quarter!
I wore it to church on Sunday and got lots of complements.

Another steal was this beautiful teal purse, again only a
quarter!!
I can't wait for a girls night to actually try it out.

Lastly, I let
Donaven pick out something for himself. He chose this fun Mr. Potato Head set.
Best 50 cents I have ever spent!
He calls it his dress up tomato... It cracks me up every time.

Moral of the story.
Go to a garage sale mid day in Texas heat.
Walk away with some awesome deals!
