Trying new things.

On Mothers day I got the opportunity to teach a lesson on motherhood in church to the sisters. One part of that lesson really spoke to me and I felt inspired that I needed to head its council. I took a few exerts from a talk given my Elder. M. Russell Ballard about finding joy in motherhood. One of the keys to enjoying being a mother was to remember to take time for yourself. "You can't draw water from an empty well." He instructed us that we should find one or two things we enjoy doing and take time to ourselves to cultivate that talent.

I decided to give painting a try. There is a new boutique here in Longview, Color-Me-Happy, that just opened up. You go online and decide what painting you want and register for the class. A teacher walks you through the different techniques step by step. They supplied the canvas, paints, brushes, & apron. I was a little nervous at first to go by myself, but I had such a great time. I even won the door prize of a free class. I will definitely be going again.

Here is my painting.

It is an urban perspective, with a bit of modern minimalist flavor.
Its called Rainy Lovers Lane.

I felt completely enriched.
Who new trying something new could be so much fun!
